Your boobies are nicer!

June 14th, 2007

I have been running around like a mad thing all week and even had to endure a 3.30am start to get an early flight to a meeting in Scotland the other day - so I haven’t been around much for a few days.

Super daddy has taken to the helm and has been leading from the front. Or so he says. In reality it is Betty who has been in charge (as usual), practicing for the day when she takes the family empire to a place she calls her own.

However, after four days of him geting up in the mornings I am back on duty. Thankfully Boo didn’t rise till 6.30am so I did get a mini lay in. She had been tucked up in front of the TV watching Little Bear Stories when she came into the kitchen laughing about the Dove skincare ad that was on the telly. “Look at all those ladies in their pants and boobie tubes (bra’s), you could be on there - it would be really cool cause your boobies are much nicer that all of those!”

They do have their moments don’t they

Harry’s party

June 10th, 2007

Yesterday afternoon Betty had a fab time at her friend Harriet’s third birthday party. We had been a bit worried during the week about the weather but even though the forecast had said rain we got a gloriously hot afternoon.

Harry’s mum, Sally had a great big bouncy slide and a water slide that all of the girls loved. They all played really nicely with only minimal fights.

Sonny was at the local carnival representing his karate club in their lite demo team. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see him cause I was on party duty - so no pics. But next time we may get to see him breaking wood!

Have you got me a present?

June 8th, 2007

We like most parents that I know have made the unfortunate mistake of showering our children with gifts. It has gotten so bad in our house that if you venture out alone and come back empty handed you are snubbed at the door.

Yesterday daddy and I had a lovely evening out in London. We went to see Darcy Bussell in one of her final performances before she hung up her ballet shoes for good. We had a really nice day. The children left in nanny Natalie’s capable hands.

We called them on the phone after school. They were all in good cheer. Biba spoke first to daddy, managed a few pleasantries before her trade mark comment “Where’s mum?”, so she spoke to me – and without even a word of greeting I got “Have you bought me a present?”

Wow the girl packs a punch! I miss you mommy, when are you coming home? So for the rest of the day we trawl around the shops to find them all something nice that they don’t really need.

Betty was on good form on the phone. Cute as only she knows how. We had our grown up time in London, they had fun with Natalie and were rewarded with a pair of very sparkly princess shoes each (well not Sonny but I’m sure he would have loved some too!) and life goes on!

Look at the cats bum

June 4th, 2007

You see, when you are a parent - all sense of decorum goes right out of the window. Today our cat had a bit of a problem and Betty revelled in the fact that she had to run over to the office to tell me that the cat had poo all over her legs!

I (obviously) jumped up from my desk and headed back to the house. The cat in question is no moggy, but a prize winning pedigree Persian who bf (before children) was our pride and joy – number one baby.

Today, things have changed and she is somewhat further down the pecking order in the To house, but she is still my number one girl. My poor little Izzy (or Bell as she is more commonly known) had had a bit of an accident.

I grabbed her and got her to the sink and sent Boo up to the bathroom to get some baby bath (if it is good enough for kids then it is good enough for you cats!), she returned with some delightful Green Baby body wash www.greenbaby.co.uk and Bell was washed and blow dried in double quick time!

Boo’s other highlight of the day was receiving a package from www.noaddedsugar.co.uk with a beautiful new dress for her and a new dress for Biba.

Sonny and daddy ditched us after school for a showing of Pirates of the Caribbean – how exciting!

The babysitting debut

June 1st, 2007

I don’t think that we have done too bad to get to this point as parents and never had a night out that has required us to get in a baby sitter. You see we are blessed in having my eldest son, the little guy’s hero big brother Ethan and our super nanny Natalie to call on in times of need.

Yesterday we changed the rules and in stepped one of my best friends - Sarah and her beautiful daughter Lottie. Big question was, were the kids going to eat them alive (and were their angelic little faces going to be smiling up at us when we got home).

Sarah is a bit of a goddess in the kitchen and came armed with what can only be described as chocolate heaven (for daddy and not for the monsters). We have never gone out before whilst they haven’t been tucked up in bed and so we wished them both luck and off we went.

We returned to a quiet house and even got a bit of a lay in this morning. Betty was raving about Lottie and is already making plans for her to come over again. This time she is staying over (so Betty says), in Natalie’s room - well it is the spare room but seeing as no one else ever stays over it is known as Nat Nat’s room.

Not sure if Lottie would be up for that one. Teenagers and 7am are not a good mix by anyone’s standards. But the important thing is that we all learnt something last night. For me - it was that I can trust them to behave (well if you don’t count conning an extra cuddle out of Sarah and Lottie) and for them that they can con an extra cuddle out of the babysitter to get an extra half an hour in front of the TV!

Off to Birmingham

May 30th, 2007

It has been a mad few days at home and at work. We had lots of people over for one of daddy’s legendary lunches on Monday - and at last count I believe there were 11 adults and 9 kids, so by the time everyone had gone home we were all pretty wiped out.

Boo had Mia to play yesterday whilst Sonny and Charlie were at football camp and Biba was out with her friend Berii. My day wash a rush from start to end as I had to shoot off to London to attend the dinner for the Grazia O2 Business Woman of the years award finalists and I didn’t get home till the early hours of the morning.

I didn’t get to say goodnight to the children which is not a good place for me but when I saw them this morning they assured me that they said goodnight and kissed my picture by their beds! I do know that it was pretty early this morning when Boo came in to show me her new trick. Apparantly she is a magician now too!

We took Biba to see a new model agent in Birmingham this morning and Boo decided that she was going to come long too - so we had a nice lunch and a good look around the Hello Kitty store in Selfridges before heading home and back to work.

They have only just gone down which is pretty late for them but they are excited about having a babysitter to put them to bed tomorrow night. I am sure that it has more to do with the fact that they know that they will be an easy target and we are already taking bets on who will still be awake when we get home - watch this space!

Mini Me!

May 26th, 2007

Luckily for me it was my turn for a lay in. So when Boo strolled in at 5.30am - I turned ove and went back to sleep! So to say that I have has it easy today may be a slight understatement. It was nearly 10am when I rolled out of bed and by that time everyone was up and ready for the day. Nothing exciting on the cards today though. A trip to the supermarket a few games of boxing on th Wii, supper, Dr Who and then bed.

Boo helped to make the food, safely tucked up in her Fun Pod www.littehelper.co.uk - not that it went down very well - and it was only pasta with a tomato sauce. How can it be hated so much one day and wolfed down the next? This has to be one of the greatest mysteries of parenting.

I bought her some new trousers yesterday that match a pair that I have. Look I said to her we are twins. Yes she said all except for our boobies and your hair is the wrong colour and my eyes are brown and yours are blue and I have got a fat belly and you haven’t. Apart from that I said. Yes she said I am your mini me!

We haven’t seen the boys all day - they have been stationed in the other room doing what boys do courtesy of the X Box. The weather doesn’t look good tomorrow but I determined that we will get out for a decent cycle. Off to get our weekly fix of Dr David!

Have we got a meeting?

May 25th, 2007

Boo now seems to have taken her rightful role as head of the business! I had another meeting yesterday lunch time and armed with pen and paper she joined us at the table to make notes - she is taking it all very seriously. She had to leave half way through to get her daily exercise stint at Tumble Tots and when she returned we were still hard at it.

Karate last night and she had a great time. The penny has dropped with her now - and even though she is half the size of everyone else she can throw a mean kick!

Today it’s tennis and ballet for boo. Sonny has his weekly spelling test and Bib has her pre-exam ballet presentation class. The big question of the day had to be… will Sonny score 10/10 again for the fifth week running?
